Condition and Age-Related Wear
We specialize in antique and vintage furniture and decorative objects, thoughtfully sourced throughout Europe for their warmth, character, and history.
Before any piece reaches our showroom, most items (particularly wood furniture) undergo careful restoration by trusted independent artisans—many based in the outer boroughs of New York City, and many with whom we’ve worked for decades. Our goal is to ensure each piece is stable and usable, while preserving the signs of age that give it authenticity. We do not believe in making antiques “perfect”; patina, wear, and minor imperfections are part of a piece’s story.
We photograph each item extensively for our website and do not retouch or conceal imperfections. We aim to represent every piece honestly, while recognizing that antique and vintage objects naturally show evidence of their past lives.
We warmly encourage clients to visit the showroom to see pieces in person before arranging pickup. When that isn’t possible, we are happy to offer FaceTime (or equivalent) walk-throughs to review condition and highlight notable imperfections.
Once a piece leaves our showroom, it is sold as-is. All sales are final, and we are unable to accept returns or make further repairs. By purchasing from us, clients acknowledge and accept the character inherent in antique and vintage pieces as they move on to their next life.
